You’re Not Supposed to Do This Alone

collaboration community innovation Jun 05, 2025

In a world that seems to move faster by the hour, the idea of working alone is no longer a badge of honor, it’s a bottleneck. Whether you're navigating business, education, creative projects, or just trying to solve everyday problems, collaboration has become the secret sauce behind innovation and resilience.

And yes, apostilles are no exception. In fact, collaboration is what makes apostille work transcend borders-the whole reason you can do this in ANY state!

This is exactly why groups like Talk About It Tuesday (TAIT), hosted by yours truly, Melissa Garner , Lori Hamm , and Tuesday Notary Titans (TNT) hosted by Laura Biewer and Jennifer Neitzel , are so well attended. No one knows everything. And thank goodness for that, because it’s in the sharing of how you do it, how they do it, that we all level up.

Collaboration isn’t just about divvying up the workload or passing around a shared Google Doc. It’s about bringing together perspectives, skills, and lived experience. When we do that with real intention, we get better results. We also get more creative, more efficient, and frankly, less lonely.

But true collaboration doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built on trust, clear communication, and a common goal. It means welcoming different viewpoints, being open to (constructive!) friction, and understanding that the best ideas often come from the least expected places.

Take today, for example. I received seven documents that are over forty years old (almost as old as I am), a few of which are from overseas, and definitely not your typical birth certificate headed straight for the Secretary of State. This one’s going to take a bit of sleuthing. You better believe I’ll be calling a fellow agent or two to bounce some ideas off. That’s how this works. That’s how we work.

And let’s not forget our couriers. These folks are out there like loyal foot soldiers, making sure documents are handled accurately and delivered on time. I talk to Apostille Agents every day who tell me they’d never reach this level of success without their trusted courier partners. Teamwork at its finest.

At the end of the day, collaboration isn’t just a tactic, it’s a mindset. One that invites us to listen more closely, ask better questions, and stop pretending we have to do it all ourselves.

So if you're feeling stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed in this work, here's your invitation:

  • Reach out.

  • Join a community call.

  • Message that agent you always see posting helpful tips.

  • Offer support.

  • Ask for support.

You don’t have to be struggling to connect, in fact some of the best collaborations are born from shared curiosity, not crisis.

In a world full of complexity and constant change, our ability to truly work together might just be our most valuable asset.

And if you’re not yet part of the largest apostille collaboration in the country as a graduate of my World of Apostille program with Bill Soroka from Notary Coach, then this is your next invitation:
